Diaries of The Cherry on Top

With the small (but amazing) progression of my modeling and starting a new job at a cool trendy local Austin boutique, Luxe Apothetique, recently I have sadly been slacking on posting to my blog. But, I’m writing this post today to share a new attribute I’d like to introduce! VLOGS!!!

Tim and I, mostly me if we’re being honest lol, have started a YouTube channel-Loryn Ashley and on this channel I am posting vlogs about the little “adventures” Tim and I go through on a daily basis.

I’ve been filming and uploading pretty regularly and I’ll be he firsts to say, it’s a LOT of fun!

Please take a look for yourself and view, like and or subscribe!

Sporty Girl

He babes,

Here is another shoot I recently did. The photographer who I shot with was Brian Saunders. He was new to shooting with an individual model, he normally shoots events, so I was kind of his guinea pig and trial shoot. It was nice working with him and I hope you enjoy some of our shoots!

I’m not sure why some of the photos are blurry, I tried to fix it but I’m definitely not a professional. I wondered weather I should leave them  up or not, but I decided why the hell not (haha)

How I get CLEAR and BRIGHT skin

Hey babes!

During my adolescence years my skin was very sensitive and acne prone. I struggled with acne for years and years until I finally got my hands on some Proactive. This trio of products helped my skin a ton in high school. It didn’t completely diminish my acne but it erased quite a bit of it. Now almost 10 years later I can finally say I am happy with my completion; it’s soft, clear (other than the occasional stress and time-of-the-month breakouts) and bright. I even feel comfortable going out in public very with little or even no foundation now lately  and this is all thanks to the day time and night time beauty regime I have put together.

I like to use as many natural products as possible to stay way from nasty chemicals….

Eye makeup removal- I take a cotton pad and put a tiny bit of coco nut oil on my eye lids and dampen the pad with water. I work that in gentle circular motions on my eyes to remove any mascara, eye shadow or anything else in that area to cause the least amount of damage. The coconut oil is also very moisturizing for my eyelashes and brows.

Face makeup removal. I use two cotton pads to remove the rest of the makeup on my face and neck. I  just recently purchased this cleanser and I love it because it leaves my skin feeling refreshed after wearing full face of makeup all day.

Wash. After removing my makeup I like to follow up with a good organic/natural face wash. I just bought this one yesterday based off of the recommendation of

I’ve only tried it  last night, so after a few more weeks I can give a better review, but so far so good. I love that it’s organic with vitamin C and it has a nice refreshing orange scent to it. I only wash my face during my night time routine in order to not over work my skin.

Once my face is fully cleansed I like to spritz it with rosewater for an added glow, morning and night. I even spray this on during the day when I feel I need a bit of a refresher.

Last but not least, STEP 5:

Moisturizer. I finish up my routinize with a bit of coconut oil and this amazing Jason Vitamin E oil and tiny bit of organic coconut oil. I rub this all over my face, lips and neck. I also apply  this combination over my whole body for extra moisturizer before applying my lotion.

I hope you guys got something out of this post to help clear up your skin. And remember coconut oil is everything!!!

Dream Big

Ever since I can remember I’ve always been told “You’re so skinny-you could be a model” or “You’re so pretty-you should really model”. I always kind of blew it off and was like “Noooo, I don’t know if I’m made for that”. As well as the fear of rejection that comes with that industry. But, since I have decided to make a career change from the medical field job that I have no into something more creative, which is way more me, I decided that maybe just maybe I will purse modeling.

Over the last two weeks or so I have found some really great photographers here in the Austin area and I have done 3 shoots so far and I love it. It’s crazy that I’ve waited this long to purse modeling because it’s not only fun, but fulfilling. It gives me the confidence boost I have always needed and that is always an added plus. We’ll see where this goes, hopefully I can take it pretty far and become well known in some way!

Here are a few photos from the shoots I have completed. I have tons more planned and I cannot wait to share them with you all!!

I have created an Instagram and Facebook page specifically for my modeling and the blog you can follow here- IG: @misslorynashley FB: Loryn Hogan

Please follow and support my progress! Any words of encouragement, tips and recommendations are always welcomed and appreciated!

Fashion, lifestyle

Austin Daze

I have lived in the Austin area my entire life and in all 24 years of it I have not once stopped to take a picture in front of any of the notorious graffiti walls that Austin has all around. Well, this past weekend Tim and I did just that!

Our mission for the day was to stroll along South Congress, also known as SoCo, here to find shops that were looking for models to promote clothing and accessories their boutique offers and lucky for me I found a few that were interested in me! I am so elated and exited to start venturing into a modeling “career”. I put that in quotes because right now it’s starting as a hobby, but my dream is for it to blossom into a career, along with the success of my blog eventually.

Enjoy the few pictures we snapped during our outing.

We stopped by a cute vintage shop we saw while eating at a deli and took some pictures in the clothing- talk about fa-shi-oooon.

I choose to keep mu outfit simple at fitted for the modeling opportunity search, so they could see my physique in its simplest form. Black V-neck top, black skinny leg trousers, brown faux suede booties and my favorite gold watch.

Simple, yet Chic

untitled4Hello babes! Happy Wednesday! Also, hooray for my first fashion post! These will definitely become some what of a regular on here. This weekend, Tim and I went to a birthday dinner for a family member of mine at a hip local burger joint we have here in Austin called Hop Doddy. If you’re in the Austin/Round Rock area I highly suggest you stop by there-everything is amazing!! So, I wanted to wear something that was ultra comfortable, per usual, casual but also “hip” (is that even a cool term to use any m ore?! I don’t know)

I choose a soft pink body suit from F21, along with my favorite summer time distressed highwaisted denim shortie shorts from American Eagle, new brown suede booties from F21, and I paired all of this with a crystal chocker that I got from  Rue21 as a set.

I tend to keep my outfits pretty simple 90% of the time, going for a monochrome or minimalist look. I might ass a gold watch, earrings or a ring or two from time to time if I’m feeling jewelry for the day.

This was the perfect attire to eat, drink and be merry with my friends and family. As you can see from my selfie I even added demi whispies lashes by Ardell to my simple go-to make up look, which made me feel oh so flirty! I added soft waves to  my hair as well to add a touch of glam. I hope you enjoyed this post.

Faux Suede Booties

Crystal Chocker (I could not find this exact chocker online, but they are so popular you can walk into pretty much any store and fine one)

Essential Tops

To start off I’d like to say I am very excited to be writing my first fashion post….

My wardrobe pretty much consist of simple, comfy and somewhat trendy items. I gravitate towards solid colored clothing in neutral colors, jewel tones and occasionally I will purchase a color that’s very opposite of black, but that’s rare. Recently I have discovered my love for bodysuits!

Currently I have 4, but I will definitely be purchasing more soon. When I wear most tops I like to wear high waisted bottoms and with my body type wearing a top that can be tucked into my bottoms flatters me most. That’s why these tops are so amazing to me.

I don’t have to worry about them coming out the tops of my bottoms or creating a bulge at my waist, they just lay perfectly and look so sleek and dare I say sexy.

I enjoy showing off the curves that I do have and a bodysuit that falls against my frame so effortlessly is perfect.

These tops can be paired with pretty much any bottoms for any occasion: denim jeans, denim shorts, trousers, skirts, etc.

Browsing though my camera roll, this is the only picture I had that shows off one of the above pictured tops (you can ignore the snapchat tags and my work name badge haha I’m working on getting better outfit of the day pictures)
Look forward to a lot of OTD post and “favorites” post!
