…Oh man do I live an interesting one….Not really, actually.

I’ve been wanting to incorporate a little more about myself on here, so here it goes!! (I really hope I don’t bore any one too much)

I’m here in my last semester of college at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I’m graduating in May and graduation day couldn’t come soon enough, Senoritis has set in big time and I am strrrug-ga-liing to make it to the finish line. Yes, college was a great experience introducing me to a life of independence and I am thankful to even be able to say that I’m about to have a diploma, so for those reasons I don’t like to complain too much.  But, I am a human and I can have a rant from time to time and I am ready to get out of this town and move on with my life!!

In all honesty this is the happiest I’ve been in my life! I am ecstatic (and terrified) to see what the next chapter holds for me. My plan A is to find a flight attendant job and do that until I’m ready to move on or maybe I’ll end up sticking with that for the rest of my life. Who knows! I’m not one to make huge goals or plans too far ahead, just because my brain can’t wrap around thinking that far in advance really. Also, I believe that you never know what can happen in life, I might find an amazing job doing who knows what a week from now. I like to take life as it comes, just making small goals to reach along the way. That’s how I remain sane.

As for plan B….I have no idea! I’ll have a Communications degree when this is all over and I have loved taking the classes that are associated with that degree plan. There are a plethora of jobs out there that I can apply my degree to, so that’s good.

On to friends and a social life, well that’s pretty none existent haha I have a few friends that I keep in contact with and or spend some time with, but I’ve really just been that school-work-home-cook-Netflix girl.

A Sunset Sunrise or something like that my friend Malc Malc made for me a couple weeks ago. I was a happy girl!

That’s where I’m comfortable. I do venture out of that routine from time to time, but not nearly as much as I’d like. To be fair, the town my college is in is a country town with not much to do at all!! I’ll find more adventures when I graduate and get.out.of.here!

Lastly, what’s going on in my love life? Noooot much there either ha Well, not much really. Its heating up a bit, like a small camp fire burning just to keep you warm. He’s an old-new friend that I have known for years and I am really happy and grateful that have him in my life. You know when you meet someone and you can feel the connection instantly and the energy is just good? That’s how this feels. I love having someone I can completely open up to and know that I can be myself around! (thanks Bear)

Ok Ok. I don’t really know where I was going with this post, but here’s a warm fresh out of the oven cookie for you if you made it this far *cookie for you* Hopefully I’ll get a bit more organized in my life post and I really hope that you enjoyed reading it!

Its like I was never gone, right….

   …I hope so.

Any way, here I am sitting in my bed waiting for my throw together dinner to finish cooking (I didn’t realize I was missing about 4 of the ingredients, so I just made do with what I had in the fridge). In my last post I talked about a “healthy week”, needless to say I FAILED! ha The very next day I talked to a dear friend of mind and he told me he was ordering a pizza and I couldn’t resist the urge! Dammit! But, to pull this back around and jump to the point I did purchase a single-serve blender that I have been using to make green smoothies for about a week. My pizza friend (who shall remain nameless for now, but will probably pop up more on here. Let’s call him Bear) along with Kira (who I mentioned in my previous post) suggested that I add these to my “diet” on a regular basis and continue working out and move on with life. Not necessarily in those exact words, but that’s what I took from it! Thanks punk!

So, that’s exactly what I’ve done. I am really enjoying Pilates and seeing and feeling the results from it. Now that I’ve added these smoothies into the equation I feel like a rock star and it’s amazing!! I’m going to sound like a straight up spokes person here, so bear with me-but, I really do feel more energized, my skin is looking better that it as been (thank you holiday eating and spring semester stress for ruining it), as well as not craving so much junk food!

Here’s a little recipe for a green smoothie I tried today and I LOVED


Give it a try! All you have to do is gather your ingredients and blend. Of course you all know I like to adjust the recipes I find, so for this one I added a large spoon full of vanilla yogurt (for creaminess), spinach, and I really don’t measure the things when I put them into the blender, I just gauge how much I think I would like.

First I blended the Kale, yogurt, and spinach to make more room in the blender. Then came the

Ever since my Christmas break (about three weeks ago) my friend Kira (HI KIRA!! if you’re reading this) has been telling me all about her journey to a healthier lifestyle. We’ve been going back and forth on cleaner eating, working out and being more positive in general. Well, it hurts to say that chick is beating me by a looooong shot! I’ve never been one to workout and I always say you have one life to live. So if being strict with yourself and eating clean is for you then do that. That’s not for everybody though, so if you don’t give a shit and you want to pig out and eat whatever your heart desires then do it! As for myself, I’m like in the middle-ish between those two lifestyles. I like to eat healthy one minute and the next I’m craving a LARGE McDonald’s fry and a LARGE stuffed crust Pizza Hut pizza with plenty of bacon, of course.

This may all sound strange coming from a seemingly healthy 5’7″ 112lb girl, but for a while now (a few years) I’ve been trying to get to my ideal weight by gaining weight. Whaaat?! You want to gain weight? Yes, that wasn’t a typo! I’ve always struggled with accepting my body type. Being on the thinner side wasn’t necessarily my issue, I just wanted to look lean just with a few more curves, yah know. My body is crazy! I have a super fast metabolism (genetics) so, I can eat a huge breakfast at 11am and be starving again by 2pm. This makes it difficult for me to gain more than about 5lbs. I know this may sound like a fantastic life to some of you, but body image is all a mind game and my mind has always told me “Loryn you’re ok, but you could be a hell of a lot sexier if you weren’t so skinny!”

After years of battling with myself  over hating my body I’ve finally come to the realization that I was just made to be a thin girl and it’s time for me to accept it. Sure, I can please myself by doing what I need to tone my body while still putting on a bit of weight, but right now I’m not that girl with a gorgeous cleavage and super curvy hips.

 Now I’m trying to continue reaching my goal but I don’t want to shove just anything into my mouth. After talking to Kira and hearing about her 21 day Fish and Raw foods (fruits, veggie, smoothies) diet and seeing the results (holy cow she looks amazing) I am motivated enough to try this whole healthy eating thing out.

So, staring this morning when I woke up around 10am I declare this week GET FIT WEEK! I just want to try eating a little cleaner (no junk food) while maintaining my physical activity I do each day (Pilates class Tuesday and Thursday, I walk pretty much everywhere because I don’t have a car and I’ve been jogging from time to time to relieve pent up energy/stress) just to see how good I feel at the end of the week, According to Kira and the YouTube videos I’ve been watching it’s a world of a difference!!

I’m not saying I’m going to go all crazy strict on myself and forbid myself a cookie or whatever I may crave, I just want to keep the core of my daily diet clean this week.
